I don't like the aforementioned changes - well, maybe the 'black market' - in addition to the normal low-sec market. Everything else - not really.
I find that low-sec is actually *decently* populated. It's a fact a number of EvE's population don't want to move from high-sec space, but, there's not much you can do.
Thing is, for a player which can fly a mission BS well, high-sec (that is, level 4 missions) is basically more profitable. Low-sec mostly isn't that profitable, although it does offer preety good rewards (in fact, low-sec living is definitely better if you're too new to do L4 missions solo reliably).
I switched from living in high-sec, running L3s with a Hurricane to flying a AF doing low-sec ratting when I was about three and something months in the game, never looked back. It made me about 400M profits (after losses, picking fights you can't win is bad, but definitely a learning experience) in a stretch of two months - and I've found it *relatively* safe if you keep your wits about. After that, I've started pirating, and as a result, am now 100% living in low-sec and enjoying it.
Which is the reason I really don't understand the 'fix low-sec' stuff that keeps showing up. I find that low-sec is actually decently populated - anything more, and it'd start getting overcrowded. At periodic intervals, I see newcomers set up camp in one of the close-by systems. Some can't stand the heat and get back to high-sec. Many of these pilots are, in fact, quite new, and yet some of them survive, thrive, and learn both when to run and when (and how) to fight back in low-sec. You kindof feel proud when a guy you've pirated three or four times finally figures out a setup and kills you, because then you know you helped someone win EvE ;)
All of this would hardly be possible in 0.0, which is the reason we have low-sec in the first place. I would hate to rob anyone of the sense of achievement that they and their corp have menaged to make a living and fight back in low-sec. If anyone described the EvE's universe as dark and dangerous, low-sec fits the bill. Which is why I think everyone who thinks that low-sec should be abolished or turned into null-sec or high-sec is a clueless jerk.
Low-sec is fine right now. Give us more of it, by the way.
